I bought this over a month ago. Gave myself about 4 or 5 simple haircuts so far. Sure easier and cheaper to stay neat and trimmed than going to the barber. Before each haircut, I would plug the clipper in to be charged overnight. This last time (2 weeks from last haircut), it seemed to have fully charged in about an hour. I set it at size 1.5 and run it around my head. This is the easy part. Then, I would use my hand as a guide to get cleaned up at the lower back side of my head. As for around the ears, I take out the guide then carefully run is over my hair – taking out a bit at a time until I am happy that it does not touch my ears. That’s it! BTW, I do not have battery problem like other posts. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh, one thing about using this clipper is that you have to shake loose the hair clipping from the inside. It’s not hard.

I did have a regular clipper that I used previously, but I would need someone to help me with cleaning up the back of my neck and the side. Maybe I am just not that good at it.

  I have had mine for about three years.I am quite happy with my unit.The only facet I am not pleased with is the battery life.For the last year the battery will only keep a charge for a minute or two.Don’t know if will buy another or not.

  This is not an all everything clipper. I use it to make sure my cut is even after using a regular clipper. That is what this does best. For that use, I have nothing to complain about. It catches the stray hairs that I miss and provides an even nice clip. Don’t think of this as your main clipper but as your finisher and you will be happy with the product. I knocked it down a star because it sits awkwardly when recharging making it a pain to keep in the sink area. It could use a nice recharging station.

I used to have a pair of Shaper Image clippers that did a pretty nice job on my head- that is until one day the blade plate fell off and shattered on the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, Shaper Image is no longer, so I couldn’t find the same pair again. Thus began my search.

The problem was, almost every pair of clippers I found had polarizing reviews. People either loved them or hated them. In fact, the ONLY pair that only had positive reviews was this one. Granted it only had one review, but that, coupled with the Wahl brand name and the hefty price point, I figured they had to be good.

Good is an understatement. They are amazing. It’s a tad embarrassing to be so excited over a pair of clippers, but after having tried a pair of Norelco’s that butchered my head, I have to say, I have found clipper Nirvana. They are quiet, they hold a very long charge. They are well made and have some weight to them. They cut extremely close. They cut evenly. They are as sharp as a razor. And one of the best features of all, there is a battery gauge so you know when to recharge them.

About the only thing I would say negative about them is that the charging base is a bit over-sized and bulky, making it not ideal for traveling. Fortunately, it holds a charge for quite some time, so chances are for most trips, this would never be an issue since you can leave the base behind.

As for the price, don’t let it turn you off. You’ll spend that much in haircuts in a matter of months anyway. And besides, most clippers are about 40 bucks. So, figure this is 3X the price for the 3X the quality. I say splurge on yourself. You won’t regret it.

We bought this for my son when he needed a haircut because it was easier to cut his hair at home then take him to a hairdresser. We like this because it’s wireless. Like all clipper, it makes the buzz sound, which my son is kind of scared of, but as long as we distract him, it doesn’t bug him. We dropped the trimmer once, and broke the #1 clip, so we use it without the clip, and it still works great.

Saved us a lot of money by not taking my son to the hairdresser.
